Submit a Hudson Valley, NY Music Event

Please Note: This page is for submitting music events that will take place in the Hudson Valley region of New York. To post events for other areas, we recommend that you use Musi-Cal.

Add your event by completing the following form. For help with a field, click on the field name.
Required fields are indicated by Bold names and are surrounded by yellow shading. Optional fields are indicated by italic names and are surrounded by cream shading.
We recommend completing optional fields (if they pertain) to increase the effectiveness of your ad. Click on the "Review and Submit" button when completed to review how your event will look and to submit your event.

Enter the name of the event, or the name of the artist who is playing, or both. If either the artist or event has a website, enter their URL. Separate multiple artist names using a slash (/). (click on a field name for help)

Last Step. Review and Submit Your Event
Press the "Review and Submit" button to see what your event listing will look like. You will be able to make corrections or submit it at that point.



Help Completing the Event Submission Form

This section describes how to complete the fields in the form.

Event Date
Use the pulldown windows to select the month, day, and year of your event. To enter multiple dates for the same event (for example, a music festival taking place over a period of days), complete the form for a single day, submit the event, then use the back or previous page buttons of your web browser to return to this page where you should find all of your data still entered. Then, change the date (and any other fields you require) and resubmit.

Time
Use the pulldown windows to select the begin and end time. You can set the time to the nearest half-hour. If you set a begin time, it is not required that you also set an end time.

Event Name
An event name is only required if you will not be entering an artist name. You may enter an event name up to 80 characters. The input box will scroll as you fill it up. Examples of event names are:
     Woodstock '98
     New Year's Eve Celebration at Steve's Tavern
You may enter both an event and an artist. If you do the event listing will look like this:
     Woodstock '98
     with: Lost Dog Woody

Artist Name
An artist name is required if you do not enter an Event name. (you may enter both an event and an artist). You can specify multiple names by separating names using a slash (/). For example:
    Bing Crosby / Stephen Stills / Graham Nash / Neil Young

Link
The link field is used to provide a related web page address for the event, artist, venue, city, or "how to" fields. For example, if you provided a web page URL for the artist field, the reader of your ad will be able to click on the name and go to that address. If you enter the following:

For the More information field, if a web page address is provided, the address will follow the description text in a "[more information]" field. For example:

Venue
The name of the club or place where this event is being held.

City
The name of the City where this event is being held. At this time only cities and towns in the Hudson Valley region of NY cities are being accepted. This means any city from the Albany area to New York City. Please make sure to spell the city name correctly.

Music Types
These fields are used to identify the kind of music performed at your event. Select at least one music type by clicking in the box. You can select as many as you want. De-select by clicking in the box with a check mark, the check mark should disappear.

Specifying "Other" Types
You can provide your own type by checking the "Other" box and then entering your type (or types) in the "specify" field. Separate multiple types using commas (,).

Description of Event or Program
Use this field to describe in greater detail the event or to highlight the great stuff happening at this event. Be as descriptive as you like so that people reading this can know what this event is all about. You can enter up to 300 characters. You cannot enter and html tags.

How to
Enter contact information such as: phone numbers, how to attend, how to get tickets, or directions. This information will appear in your event listing preceeded by info:.

Email
Enter your email address so that we can contact you if we have any questions about the event listing you submit. Enter your entire email address, for example:
   steve@aol.com
   spankme@hotmail.com

Name
Enter your name (optional). If we need to contact you about your ad, we'd like to be able to address you personally.

Submit to other event databases and music calendars
Check the boxes to also submit this event to other music databases and calendars, besides Tuned-In. We recommend this to increase the exposure to your event. Check a box if you want your event sent there.

Musi-Cal
A very popular national calendar of music events. All types of music in all regions of the U.S. are listed here. Musi-Cal users can have Musi-Cal automatically send them notes when events matching their interests come to their area.
Chronogram
A monthly magazine and events calendar for Hudson Valley arts, culture and spirit events. Chronogram is published monthly so events must be submitted by the 15th of the month prior to the event.
Times-Herald Record
A daily newspaper covering Orange and southern Ulster counties.
Albany Times-Union
A daily newspaper covering the Albany area.
Seasons
A bi-monthly magazine covering cultural and musical events in the Hudson Valley region. Events must be submitted at least two months in advance to be included in Seasons.
